Directed by Sci-Fi master Paul Verhoeven, brilliant and arrogant scientist Sebastian Caine (Kevin Bacon) has discovered how to make matter invisible. Determined to achieve the ultimate breakthrough, Caine pushes his team, his ex-girlfriend Linda (Elisabeth Shue) and her new boyfriend Matt (Josh Brolin), to move to the next phase - using himself as the subject. The test is a success, but when the process can't be reversed, Caine realizes that he can now do whatever he wants, and no one can stop him.
