Directed by Mike Nichols and based on the original draft by novelist-poet Jim Harrison, Will Randall (Jack Nicholson), the mild-mannered editor-in-chief for a New York publishing house, is bitten by a wolf and finds himself experiencing heightened senses and more primal aggression. When he is demoted at work and pees on his replacement, Stewart Swinton (James Spader), Randall realizes he’s turning into a wolf and must either learn to control the wildness inside him, or succumb to it. The plot thickens when he falls in love with Laura Alden (Michelle Pfeiffer), the daughter of his boss, and fears he might inadvertently harm her.
